About

RedBellyBlack Theatre Company makes theatre about people, highlighting the habitual, visceral and animalistic qualities that make us the creatures that we are.

Founded in 2012 by Kate Goodfellow, in the creative hub of the Surry Hills, Sydney, Australia, RedBellyBlack continues to invite new work and bright ideas to the table in a collaborative and devised environment.

The company strives to be a platform where likeminded artists can work together to make exciting storytelling a reality, by working collaboratively to build strong foundations for striking work.

We work within the realm of theatrical tapas, music, movement and theatre because we believe this can speak to an audience in the most rich, delicious, complex way.

Our previous work includes Tumbling After (“one of the cleverest and most innovative shows of its genre” – EdFringe), A Year From Now (People’s Choice Award Winner, VAULT Festival 2017) and Ok, Bye (Show of the Week, VAULT Festival 2018). We are currently working on Tacenda, a new devised piece around communication and the dangers of being honest.
