Where do you see yourself a year from now? We asked 14 people this question, and the answers were astonishing. Children, nonagenarians, new parents and trauma survivors told us how they felt about the passing of time. Five actors from various creative backgrounds came together to put those answers into a visually stunning verbatim performance.
Following a hugely successful run at the Tristan Bates Theatre, ‘A Year From Now’ returned to the stage at VAULT Festival with new answers to some seemingly simple questions. What do you make time for? What has been the time of your life? Are you where you thought you’d be a year ago?
Using a unique combination of movement and audio narration, the cast guided us through the participants’ responses. From the four year-old who already knows that he is destined to be a racing car driver to the ninety-four year-old who is still driving, the stories we told are moving, exciting, hilarious and disturbing.
